Beyond Thankful

November 2021

Hello Everyone!

I can’t believe November is here. Time seems to fly when you are working hard and having fun! As I look over the semester, I smile to myself thinking of all God has done, and my heart is full seeing how my life has been filled with such a beautiful spiritual family in the students around me.

Baptism

Emma was baptized this month! She made a public declaration that Jesus is Lord of her life! Fun fact, Emma is also from Oklahoma and from the Tulsa area, which I’m sure you can imagine was the first thing we bonded over. She loves the Lord and is passionate about others knowing Him as well. Even though Emma had been baptized as a kid, she expressed a desire to make an adult decision to follow Jesus. I’m excited to see how she continues to grow and mature in her faith. I believe she will lead and disciple others soon!

Building Family

My Dgroup adopted a guys Dgroup as our Brother Dgroup. We have combined Dgroups for dinners, games, and pumpkin carving. Let me tell you, it is never boring when this crew is together; we always have a blast! No matter if we spend time together in the Word, play games or thrift for costumes, it is such a good time. It has been a joy to see both Dgroups grow in friendship and in their love for the Lord this semester. Many of them came into Dgroup as Freshmen, uncertain about how they felt about God and, in just a few short months, they have fallen in love with Jesus. Three of them have committed their lives to Jesus and been baptized this semester.

Prayer

A couple of our students decided, a little over a month, to start sacrificially praying together Sunday through Thursday from 10pm to 11pm. They committed to fighting in prayer for their classmates, roommates, families and co-workers. Through word of mouth and personal invitation, this little gathering of students has increased to over 30 students each night plus students from other campus ministries are joining too. Originally, they were meeting in our prayer room at the Chi Alpha building, and as it has grown, they moved to the chapel in the center of campus to accommodate everyone.

They are pursuing the Lord together and the Lord is showing up in amazing ways. There are many testimonies of classmates coming to worship services, friends coming to know Jesus, and students being filled with the baptism in the Holy Spirit. One of my girls was filled with the baptism of the Holy Spirit one night. Eight students so far have been filled with the Holy Spirit during these prayer times. It has been incredible to watch our students lead and sacrifice time to sleep or study for the Lord. God has been taking care of each of them through their faithfulness.

Grateful

Just to say “thank you” never seems to be enough. Looking over the year none of the testimonies I have shared would have been possible without your faithfulness in prayer and support. I am so grateful for your partnership in reaching the college campus! Every conversation about Jesus, every meeting on campus, every baptism, and every life eternally changed by the love of God was possible through you!

I couldn’t do this without you and wanted you to know I greatly appreciate every sacrifice of your time in prayer and finance. Know that in this season of gratitude I think of each of you often and ask the Lord to bless you, your family, your finances, your time and your resources. We are changing the world and building the Kingdom together! I am very grateful for you!

Prayer

I’m hopeful and still praying for a Tri Sigma Dgroup to happen.

As our students go home for Thanksgiving and Christmas pray that they still press into the Lord and tell others of how their lives have changed.

Pray for the Spring semester to come and for the new students we will meet.

Kailee, Aimee, Meghan, Lexie

Kaitlyn, Jenna, Felicia, Emma

Kaya, Caitlyn, Shelbe, Mikayla

Maryn, Hannah

Our Brother Dgroup, that they would continue to grow into the men of God they are meant to be.

Let me know if there is anything I could be praying with you about as well!
