Hello Family!
It has been such a blessing to see God’s hand on the lives of the young women around me. It is a joy to live life with and to share life’s experiences with these girls. Without an event or retreat this month we just get to be friends and family to one another. No matter if it’s a Sunday morning or Wednesday afternoon it is so sweet to have these sisters to follow the Lord alongside.
Hope
As the wintery days of February give us the occasional taste of spring, we are longing for those warmer sunny days to embrace us once again. We also have been looking forward to what the spring semester has to offer. The coming of spring always reminds me of what it looks like to hope. Even as we see a cold bare ground that may look hopeless we know winter comes to end. Knowing the winters never last forever, there is a lasting hope that the flowers of spring will pop through the bare ground, leaves on trees will provide shade again and there will be a warm breeze come to welcome everyone outside.
Winters alway challenge my heart. Thinking that spring will never come or in wishing away the winter, I miss the things the Lord is wanting to do. Even as it looks like nothing is growing, in reality things are moving and shifting below the surface. It teaches me to hope in what the Lord is doing below the surface of someone’s heart. When I can’t see it, I hope in what the Lord is cultivating. In many recent situations, the Lord has asked me to choose hope in Him and that He is doing things that I cannot yet see. Winter may not look like much but it is a season of preparation and rest. May we not rush through the winter to the new birth of spring but choose hope. Allow hope to warm your heart during winter.
Project 222
Summer mission trips will be here before we know it. We are in preparation of those trips even now. The teams are filled with students who are passionate and motivated by the heart of God. We will have 120 students overseas this summer in Africa and Asia. I can’t wait to introduce you to my team, of nine UCA students and two Chi Alpha interns, this year. I will be taking my team to Southern Asia this summer.
Thank you!
Thank you all for your sacrifice in time given in prayer and in finances to send others into unreached places. Thank you for passing on the heart of God to the next generation! I couldn’t imagine doing this with out you.
