Last time I was telling you how we were going on a journey with our students that started in “Jerusalem” right where they are. Here is an update on where we are in our journey and a quick testimony of what God has done.
Testimony from Week 1 - The Call
After the first week we could already tell a difference in our student leaders. In their pursuit of God in worship, even through a mask there was a loud, glorious praise being raised and a passion in their hearts to know God. The prayer room and even multiple rooms in our building have been filled to overflowing at all hours for prayer. Students come for an hour, at anytime, in the middle of the night or at 5am before they have to be at work. They are sacrificing so that someone else may know who God is.
Week 2 - Faith, Hope & Expectation
After we gave the call to go on Project to “Jerusalem” we talked about Faith, Hope and Expectation. The challenge was to be in the Word of God and allow the Word to increase your faith and expectation. We are consuming more of the Word than ever before. Some are reading through the whole Bible in 90 days (yes, that’s also with a full student class load even including Student Athletes) Others are reading through the New Testament in 40 or 20 days. My Dgroup is reading through the New Testament in 40 days. It is amazing! These plans are on the You Version Bible App if you want to go through one with us.
Week 3 - Prayer & Fasting
We have challenged our students to pray and fast for others on this campus who are lost. The lights of the Chi Alpha building never seem to go off and the door is constantly opening with a new group of students coming in to spend time in the prayer room. They have been fasting one day a week and corporately we will be fasting the Thursday, Friday, and Saturday leading up to Easter. The challenge to prayer in an hour in corporate prayer and an hour of prayer in solitude. You are also welcome to join us.
Week 4 - Giving
What do we have to give to the Lord? That not only includes sacrificing our finances but to also give God our gifts and talents. What can you give, what can you sell, what can you earn, and what came you raise? Then we prayed and asked God what we should financially give and as we calculated everyone’s commitments, our Wednesday night service, a room full of about 80 college students, committed to giving $22,000 to missions. The next service night committed to a little over $17,000. Monday and Tuesday services were no exception these students our filled with amazing faith!
Week 5 - Going
This is the week right before the students leave for Spring Break. These last few weeks have been packed with challenge and inspiration! But now as students go back home for Spring Break and look ahead to the summer they are faced with two questions, “what will you do?” and “who do you want to become?” They have the opportunity to share their testimony, to share Jesus with high school friends, to walk with Jesus everywhere they go and show others the goodness of God. Please be praying for our students as they are home with their families this coming week (March 22nd to March 26th).

I hope this is encouraging as you read what kind of journey we are currently on. Know that you can also join us! You may join us in the Word, Praying for those around you to know God, Fasting for the lost, Giving to missions and Going to those around you with the good news. If there is anyway you would like us to be praying for you please feel free to let me know. (All my contact information can be found on the back of this letter)
We still don’t know what opportunities the summer will hold but we will be a people on mission no matter where we go! Every student will be sent with the knowledge that if God has changed their heart this school year he can change their family, hometown, nation and the ends of the earth for his kingdom and his glory. We are changing the world together! I would not want to do this without such a wonderful support team! Thank you for your support and partnership!
May the Lord bless you & keep you,
Alyssa
