Hello Everyone!
Thank you so much for praying for our students over their Christmas Break! The Lord answered prayers over their four week break. The girls pressed into the Lord and grew in their hunger for the Word and their relationship with Him. It has been so good to hear the testimonies they have been sharing with me.
Salt was in Dallas, TX over New Years during the middle of the break. We had all the Chi Alphas in New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi all together for four days. It was a special time since we didn’t have Salt last year. There were Freshmen and Sophomores who had never experienced Salt. It is always awesome to worship together to bring in the New Year. Salt was amazing for our students.
After going to Salt, Emma said she was forever changed and wants to live a life completely surrendered to God. I have seen her act completely different on campus, reaching out to new people, making new friends and telling others about Jesus. She is more hungry for the word of God and asking great questions about the word. I’m so excited to see what the Lord will continue to do through all my girls who went to Salt.
Once we got back to Conway we took our leaders to Man and Chica Retreat.
The guys went out into the woods (or what they call “the Kingdom”) and the girls went to a giant lodge cabin for a weekend. We took our old and new leaders to talk more about what it means to be a man or woman of God in the Kingdom of God.
Students are back on campus and the spring semester has new opportunities for us. We have already been meeting new students. We are meeting students who have transferred to UCA over the break and students who have been here and were unsatisfied with how last semester was for them and are now ready for a change. There are hearts ready now that were not ready back in August. My Dgroup girls have been reaching out to the new students in their classes and making friends. They are inviting these new friends into our family and showing them the love of Christ.
It is beautiful to see how these girls I met in August have been changed by Jesus in just one semester and they are now sharing this with others. They have experienced the love of God and their response is to tell everyone they know and look for opportunities to tell others. This has been something I have prayed and hoped for this year, that they would love Jesus more than they love Chi Alpha.
The New Year is here and as you can tell we have started the year running. I don’t always ask the Lord for a word for the year but the word capacity keeps coming up and coming to mind. I feel the Lord saying it is time to expand your capacity and make room for more in your life. I’m looking forward to what all that will mean and hold for us in this year.
Thank you for your continued support and prayers! Thank you for wanting to reach the college campus and building the Kingdom of God together. We are looking forward to this semester, we have lots of things on the calendar and summer mission trips are being planned. The spring semester always flies by so quickly!
