The little house we have operated out of, at one time, was just a dream. To imagine a space where 20 college students could have a place to call their own, gather together for prayer, and worship was just a dream. And now that we have seen that dream become a reality and have far exceeded our dream and have out grown it 10 times over, it is time to dream again. Time to dream of a space that can facilitate our hopes, dreams and prayers for the future.
Under our current stipulations, as a staff team we have more than tripled the fire code limit for our work space. This makes meetings and daily tasks increasingly difficult to accomplish. Anything from not having the space to work, not having enough space for students to meet for prayer, to having staff and interns needing to stand during meetings; we have out grown our current location.
In 2009, the Campus Missionary In Training program (Chi Alpha Internship) started in our Chi Alpha at UCA, 79 full-time missionaries/ministers have been raised up and sent out. (That number does not include the 100’s that still are passionately serving the Lord in the Marketplace) In addition to multiple university campuses in Arkansas, we have also pioneered Chi Alpha’s at Kansas State University, University of Alabama, University of Maine, Tennessee Tech University, University of Tennessee, and the University of Kansas. Not just Stateside but others are serving overseas as World Missionaries in Haiti, Vietnam, Mozambique, Thailand, Lebanon, South Africa, Zambia, and Costa Rica. With teams being built and new locations on the horizon both stateside and overseas our dreams continue to grow.
Our greatest goal is not a large fancy building, but to create a space for future missionaries to be born, trained and empowered. Our greatest dream is the mobilization of the Gospel to reach every university in America and all the way around the world. We have definitely felt the stretching of our own capacities as our internship has grown, and our student leaders have more than doubled but our hearts are still looking ahead to all that is still to come.
Our dream is to have a large meeting space (250 person seating capacity with potential of expansion to 350 seating capacity, approx.1,000 square foot open meeting area), Large garage/barn doors for indoor/outdoor event space, Small kitchen area, Staff office space, Prayer room, and Conference room.
This dream is not only words, not just a hope, not just a drawing on a page, but becoming a reality. Now all that’s left are the finishing touches. We not only need to fill this place with furniture but we are looking forward to the day that this is filled with praises from the mouths of hundreds of college students. The Lord will use those hands to meet needs, He will use those feet to go to the ends of the earth and He will use those mouths to declare His goodness around the World.
We are right on schedule as we work hard on this new building. We are only $250,000 away from having a 2.1 million dollar building completely paid off. With just a few weeks away from completion. For more Information and details you can go to https://www.chialphamtc.com/
