Out West

We spent two weeks out west in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Our team of 15 was amazing! They worked so hard on the new Chi Alpha house and I didn’t hear any complains, even in the heat! Project is such a sweet time to be with students and live life with them 24/7.

This team worked hard these past two weeks. We painted for days, removed shingles from the roof so the pros could come and put in the new roof, and did other remodeling projects throughout the house. This house was bought in the middle of a remodel.

“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Hebrews 11:1.

We put our faith into action and began the preparation for what we could not yet see. This house is being prepared for the Chi Alpha that is to come at the University of New Mexico. Looking at the inside of the house it didn’t look like much when we started and what work we did didn’t change the appearance all that much. As we looked at the house with our spiritual eyes we could see the new foundation this house would have and how it will affect generations. As I’m sure you can imagine, our presence in the neighborhood alone caused the neighbors to take lots of notice and to ask questions. We had many opportunities to share the hopes and dreams for what this house would be in the year to come. Each neighbor was encouraged and excited we were there.

A few missionaries are there now but more are on the way. They are hoping to have a full team there and on campus no later than January 2023. God is stirring something new in Albuquerque. As we all prayer walked the University of New Mexico campus, we felt like God wanted to do something new on campus and it was coming! These students walked in obedience and stepped out in faith many times while prayer walking. Keep praying for Albuquerque and the University of New Mexico.

New Mexico has been affected by a major wildfire this past month which has burned an area the size of Dallas. While we were there we had an opportunity to work with some of the fire relief programs where we served at a drive by food bank. We got to pack boxes of food for families who have lost their homes.

Thank you for sending us out west to prepare for what’s to come! We are now about half way through the summer. Will you begin to also pray and prepare for what will come next school year? Will you join me in praying for the next generation of students that will be at UCA in the Fall? Will you pray that their hearts would be ready to hear the gospel? Will you pray that the freshmen who walk on our campus will meet Jesus?
